Hi folks welcome to yet another episode and today I will be taking you to a ghetto a Jewish ghetto in warso which was the biggest ghetto in Europe it had nearly 500,000 population half of a million people lived in a ghetto that started here and uh basically ended up in the war so City Center um remember that around 100,000 people died of hunger in the ghetto and 300,000 people were killed in a nearby concentration camp of Treblinka hey hey hey this is your boy zupa and we are going to the ghetto not to the ghetto but to see the wall that was between the ghetto and the other part of the Town remember that uh ghetto covered one3 of wall so it was a vast area uh which was completely destroyed uh after the Jewish Uprising in the ghetto the green area that you see in front of you is called poni which for many Polish people is associated with like one of the biggest and the most important polish Cemetery that used to be part of the that used to be part of the ghetto and that's where the biggest Jewish cemeter in Europe is located there's over 200,000 thums on that outside because of the lack of time I didn't make it to see it inside I saw it from outside this area has got also other cemeteries like a Muslim Cemetery a Protestant Cemetery etc etc this is like a place where they all are gathered well when it comes to the Jewish cemetery uh it's worth to remembering that it has been uh a very busy one it was a very busy cemetry uh uh the government didn't want to expand the area but the Jewish population grew also was the the biggest Jewish city in the world once upon a time before the war so it needed more space so that's why there's six layers of basically of buried bodies on that side because they just cover it with another part of ground soil and then buried another on top of it so there's six layer and in 2001 there was only one burial a month this shows you how the Jewish population in warso has declined in the Jewish cemetery in waro you will find Graves of very important Jewish personas it's open Monday to Friday during the daytime so you can easily access it before the war there was a synagogue on the cemetery but during the war after the GTO Uprising Germans has destroyed the buildings the right writing on the graves can be found in many languages like Russian edish Hebrew and polish Poland before the second world war was highly populated by Jewish Community some data says that onethird of Polish citizen were Jews now it is not even 1% folks this is the wall that's been a border between the ghetto and the Aran side of War so and listen by order of the German occupation authorities they get was cut off from the rest of the city on November 16th 1940 the ghetto area surrounded by a wall was initially 370 hectar with time it was reduced starting in January 42 it was divided in two parts called large and small ghetto approximately 360 warso juice and 990,000 juice from the area around was gathered here nearly 100,000 people died of hunger during the summer of 1942 the Germans deported and murdered close to 300,000 people in the gas chambers of Treblinka on April 19 1943 an uprising broke out in the ghetto until miday Fighters and civilians perished in combat or in the systematically burned ghetto buildings the remaining population was murdered by Germans in November 1943 in the midan pyatova and Tra Niki concentration camps only few survived I've got to go back to salesia so I'm taking a train from vava Zoda which is Western War so it is a busy train station a busy it is a busy train station and there is always some kind of works going on on the side that's been like that for many years next to the train station we have a bus station that bus station serves a lot of uh passes to Ukraine you can see a lot of Ukrainian people around and a lot of writing in C Lisa or Serita cica is that how you pronounce it so you see a lot of that around that station that station needs to be upgraded as well uh it's a disgrace as uh this is the like a main police station bus station in war so uh we've got much better stations down south I tell you muchas graas for watching this episode I hope you've enjoyed it and uh I hope I will see you on the next one which will be very soon till then be safe vlogger zaa [Music] Vlog vlog there was a boy there was a o [Music] Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc6D5Fnuv-x76ZuBEE1QzqQ/join Check my website https://cosmopolitus.com/ and vlog on https://bloggervloggerselektazupa.blogspot.com/ Zupa Media – video content creation, production/DJ in London and all over the World. I will use an intercity train from Katowice in Silesia to Warsaw in Mazovian area.The train can go very fast due to good tracks on that part. In Warsaw i am going to stay on the 12th floor of a skyscraper. In the evening i willbe taking you on a tour arund the Old Town which is an UNESCO heritage side.

we're leaving the carpatian going to covita in cesia where I will be catching a train to waro an inter city one so stay with me and watch this one [Music] hey hey hey [Music] hey welcome to yet another Vlog this time I'm taking you to war so stay with me I'll be showing you how to get there how I'm staying how much I'm paying and most of all at night I will hit the old town and tell you more about the old town of waro which is a very unique place because it's under UNESCO Heritage side but is actually uh built in 1953 why find out vlogger zaa hey ho folks we will be going by train and we will cover about 320 km in 2 hours and 9 minutes that means the train will be going in a speed of 160 km an hour right in Poland right so that's why you have to stay I will take some footage from the train let's see what the Polish inter cities are like I'll be spending a night in warsa so I will show you the accommodation I've got I've also have a drone on me and uh I hope to capture all these new skyscapers of warso so it's worth to stay and see what the Polish Capital has got to offer this is the first part of the trip I'm going to kovit which is a city in South Poland I'm staying in the carpatian mountains remember uh so I'm going to katov to catch a inter city train to war so this is the footage from kovit which has a nice bus station and uh and a new train station as well I will show you what it looks like in war so you can compare I always think in cesia we have better facilities than the war soan guys but I'm going to the capital which is a beautiful city I've heard this very clean uh let me find out more about [Music] it this is the train station in Poland in V I'm catching a train two or so cost you about it's very cheap if you book it online was only 12b for like 200 miles in an inter city train so the prices are very low compared to the UK anyway which apparently has the highest prices of train tickets in Europe and we know the strikes the trains in Poland remember to get a ticket beforehand and if you are in a train without a ticket go and find the conductor because otherwise you may pay a fine it's not like he come to comes to you you have to find it's usually on the first and last uh carage uh and that's where people C for tickets on stations without um offices or the machines [Music] yeah you can get meals as well in the train to U also in inter cities alcoholic as well this is the footage from what they call like a central Railways Railways in Poland which is from Kat roughly from Kat to waro and it was meant to lead to the Baltic uh ports but never did and the thing is about it it was the in cesia we have had and still have probably lots of coal and that Co us to be a popular trading material and that went to to the Baltic and warso and and all over Poland and this they needed the good good trucks and we got the minerals from Sweden uh also so uh the Baltic ports were a busy places the train can run as fast as 200 km an hour that that's approximately 130 M an [Music] hour we arrive in what they call a western waro station vava zaha um it's like a new station it's always been in in uh being rebuilt renovated uh for for many years now so that's why I'm saying you know we've got better stations down south because of the central line the trains can run as fast as 200 kilm an hour or more now and that what makes uh time of the journey very short for example from kov to war so in just about 2 hours 2 hours 20 minutes at the same time with Kat Oro 2 hours 20 minutes if the train use the Central Railway trucks uh will get you very fast there's no many stops and you get plenty of trains going every hour in and of War so foreign companies also have trains in Poland I actually for my trip in Poland I've used a Czech uh a company from Czech Republic with their cages the Czech cages which are slightly different and I must say the toilet didn't work in them all right just what I said is check Czech Railways do something about it speak a bit of check come [Music] on I this time I decided to go on a spree and stay in the skyscaper on the 12th floor in near the city central waro so have a look what it looks like it was only 300 Polish Water which is about 80 lb for a night in a luxuous apartment in a skyscaper what can you see in war so I would recommend you going to the old town because it is a very unique place and very beautiful place I love it so much um and the fact that it is actually a new Old Town makes you wonder because it looks old looks really old but it was only uh rebuilt in 1953 after the Germans destroy completely War so flatten it Hitler said flatten it and the there was ruins I think 80% of War so was ruins folks so we've arrived uh this place will cost you about 300 Polish Water which is 6 British pounds for a night two people can sleep here you are on the 15th floor not too far from the city center I think I've shown you around already right so uh and the place if you looking to stay here looking to for and the place is called the warso Yan Hong Kong after the war warso was rebuilt in a new way the old small nor narrow roads were broaden and that's why War has got broad uh roads and it doesn't actually look like an old European city except that old town which has this narrow roads cobbled roads as well it resemble more like an American Town than a European town except of these masses of floods of blocks from the Soviet era my place is called warso Hong Kong you can find it on booking.com as warso Hong Kong I do recommend that apartment you can get it a really nice price you get a good connections to the central waro and to the big train station of the Western waro in the nearby location [Music] folks I've done my drawn footage and now I'm heading to the center to check how my new lenses will behave in a dark mode I've traveled by a Trum and the good thing about the public transport in Poland at the moment is that you can purchase your ticket actually on board of the vehicle you don't have to go and buy the ticket you just scan u a code or buy a ticket in a machine inside a Trum or a bus so I've seen it in kov as well it's uh really handy you don't have to because it used to be like tickets always tickets in but now it has changed I think it's I'm just have to move on with time and get the tickets out of my head warso has seen major infrastructural changes over the past few years amid increased foreign investment and economic growth the city has a much improved infrastructure with new roads flyovers and bridges public transport in warso is ubiquitous if you don't know what it means it means that it's connected to the internet you get anything you need online so and it's serving the city with buses trums Urban Railway and Metro which is an underground although many streets were widened and new ones were created during the rebuild of warsa in the 1950s the city is currently plagued with traffic problems the main reason is that the in the communism time the traffic was small due to low numbers of private cars not only because of the prices of cars but also because of the heart how hard it was to obtain a necessary coupon to buy a car folks we are in the main square of wara which was rebuilt after the second war completely it's actually built after 45 but it's still under the UNESCO Heritage because it was rebuilt so well alsoo old town is classified as the UNESCO Heritage side yeah it was rebuilt in 1953 but because of the scale of the re rebuilding process it was basically the whole town was rebuilt and it looks exactly like it used to look before the war it UNESCO said yes we can do it but I've heard there was a project about a skyscaper being uh built near the old town and UNESCO has already said if that project goes on WE withdraw our our um protection from your side it is an old city and it has seen many many events throughout centuries the city waro is called vava which comes from old polish name vtis or something like that also has got 1.8 million inhabitants is one of the most expensive well it is the most expensive city in Poland you you might not know but waro was a big Center of Jewish Community before the war the largest ghetto in the world was in Walo and I will tell you more about it on the next Vlog I will go and see the the walls of the ghetto itself so it's uh I couldn't be more proud of than him I tell he something to look up for as a brother so you said that you you go to your famous house to DJ with him and stuff how long ago was in how old were you at the time I was like in my teenager years I was only about 16 to 18 OA G's bedroom MC to Grime instrumentals garage instrumentals and that's when I knew that's the music I wanted to do and I yeah I got a ba in music performance from Moy college so I know you're a singer so you're an artist right so what have song You performed and where have you performed um I've performed at lccm with you and uh several like key Changers pop brickton events and at my college Moy college so you said t on Q love I work from key changes I us to be under them how do you hear about them and how they helped you so I was in hospital when I heard about key changes um because my mom passed away and I went through a really rough time and they were there on the ward and they were acting like Superstars and they just like kind of had this great energy and asked me to record a song when I was like when nobody was really helping uh you know how it is on the ward and nobody really like I don't know a few nurses recommended it so I love dancing when I'm in hospital and like singing and with all the other patients just like having a party all the time so so you're performer by acting as well you say like have you ever done acting in music videos and done acting on a bigger scale um I've studied acting as a child and I've done acting more recently with is Ling people's theater so I'm trying to get back into it um I've not really done that many music videos I did a couple um for Moy college but that's about it so Moy College seems like a big step for you getting education in that I'm assuming right yeah um well I've I had a degree in biology so I'm quite studious but um to be accepted as a music performer was a big step definitely that's fantastic thank you for your time Rosie pleasure start music what music is your genre and how long have you been doing this for since I was a teenager already and is it a good atmosphere for you does it help you a lot social media that and the education of Music how do you what what where your music going to be in the future basically where's it come from where is it going to go uh it's I think it's going to blow up cuz cuz um I got lot ideas to do you know what I mean I was I was with a couple years ago we finished that um but I got enough ideas to come um I I want to build my my student home so so I can build my own music I'm changes what got me into music I think from a young age I really wanted to play guitar but didn't have the ability to have lessons I started learning to play guitar age 18 at College when there was a group in the lunchtime and there was an artist uh there that taught me how to play guitar alongside others so then later on with life was submerged with a group called avenge sfold which really made me learn more and more and be inspired to play guitar so I started my own YouTube channel called a7x entertainment and then my whole my whole goal was to gain the traction gain the viewership gain the subscribers I'm now at 117,000 subscribers with that fan Channel and I was releasing guitar covers I was made aware of key changes in the year 2017 and when I started going there I started doing guitar covers and then I later understood I could sing and then started to do my own original material with me singing on it and me composing my own tracks so your YouTube channel you started when and what into YouTube channel when talk about the fame the popularity of your channel what got me into doing the YouTube channel and and how and what did it take to get to the stage you're at now I think it was just hard work having the vision not expecting much but enjoying it I took my time uh I was lucky enough to get to win a competition with the lead guitarists and had a video interview with him and there I asked him to shout out my channel and I used his clip of him saying subscribe to a7x entertainment for more avenge 7 content and because of that it really helped my channel a lot so what can mus do and what got into New mus do today you said you make your own music you perform your own music and you're at KF today so what music you performing and where have you performed and what he's there's another key Jes artist by the way so what going to music and when did you start well I started music at around um age nine my cousins were in a band uh a a pop band they had their own pop band and I used to write hymns I used to write gospel hymns as a little boy because that was age appropriate really and then um as I got older um I got into session musicianship started learning a few instruments then um I took a course in audio visual engineering and that's pretty much where my serious side of songwriting and session producing began with the interaction trust and there a charity that's run by Princess Anne that allow people from underprivileged backgrounds or whatever to get access to high technology um high technology academic processes and programs learn how to network computers use Computer Applications in industrial settings so I learned a a a wealth of knowledge and then um pretty much started session musician production songwriting of my own Merit and generate in my experiences that way um I met a few big artists along the way um at the Prince concert in 95 I was on his video wall and I got a ticket to his after party where he was performing and stuff um at the Michael Jackson concert again I was on the video wall know and stuff and he let me behind the front of the stage along the the cage and stuff so like that that was memorable you know didn't didn't achieve anything but it was memorable you know the King of Pop himself being so kind you know that's like very he was a very kind man sort of the earth I can't I can't knock Michael Jackson my impression of him as a fan that day of the concert was that he's a he was 100% he was a very kind man so you so you've done a lot of stuff in Industry B computers music so so you've been with key changes recently how has key changes helped you and and where do you startop key changes key changes is an independent outlet that you can work with them freelance as a label compile a lot of you know work art and your guaranteed that it's going to get released there's there's no censorship over what you want to express if you want to talk about politics if you want to talk about racism sexism classism class discrimination you can do all those things at key changes they don't discriminate and say no you can't you can't talk about you know situations that affect you obviously in mental health were affected by racism sexism Pol iCal issues class issues we're affected by all those things so getting somewhere to talk about them in music is positive thank you so thank you that and by how he works with him how he promotes her music hi Peter I started working with key changes about seven years ago and then I started working with the choir I came as an artist originally and released quite a few tracks uh I've was been a singer songwriter for many years doing dance tracks uh EDM trans and chill out music um and now I assist with the uh cni NHS choir which is soon to become the north London NHS choir and we we promote positive mental health through music uh we uh work with uh lots of artists and we uh we work with lots of local community staff uh from the NHS and service users and we every week we run a session on Tuesdays at St panr hospital and we concentrate on positive uplifting music so how do you think it has helped people to to engage and how has helped a lot of people old there now so how's it supported them and how's it as some artist that even have mental health problems how they benefit from going there they it's amazing because we it's one of those wonderful intangible things that music is uplifting I have many people that come to the choir every week and they're in you know in not a great way and that but so many people say after an hour and a half of singing they feel so much better and and more positive in their lives so class music as a therapy in your opinion music is definitely a therapy yes that's that's the great thing about music it is uplifting it helps with um emotions and feelings and and just makes people it's great for well-being so you as an artist like when did you start music like and where have you been in the music industry well I started singing I was in my first band when I was 19 and through the 2000s I did a lot of uh work with famous artists like shampoo innocence I worked with Sam Brown um David Gilmore from Pink Floyd and did many big concerts charity concerts back then and then I concentrated on recording so I I did a lot of EDM and chill out music and trance music so do you know how the music indust is changed and aoling and how the music is ofd what do you think of the theme of today's music and how it's changed in society well it's great every new music is fantastic you know that's the thing I mean uh Technologies really helped people to actually become an artist uh used to be more Elite because people couldn't afford to record or do it you know go to Studios and and set up bands whereas now people can work on their own or in collaboration with others so has that helped you to grow as an artist of being on social media yes it does um I I I release stuff every year uh work working with chance uh producers uh and plus singing every Tuesday which is wonderful so that's on the choir isn't it yes that's with the choir so how did the choir start and when did it start the choir started about eight or nine years ago and was set out by Dr Wendy Savage and Simon ramage from uh the NHS trust cni NHS trust and they started it as a way to sort of help the local community service users and the staff and um it's grown and grown over the last seven years that I've been working with it I say I go quiet I'm one of your clients there it's a really nice fact you said it's helped people lot of people from K the people really appreciate it like like what made it go into the stage that now you said it's promotion the social media have you ever pointed on on newspapers I see a lot of fening in St Pan Station you do you do festivals like what's your latest Festival you did apart from like well we've got some coming up actually we're doing the white cross street festival next Sunday after afternoon uh that's near Old Street ec1 and then the following Sunday we're doing the Camden New Town Festival which is in Camden square nw1 and then we have some other concerts coming up later in the year and we always do St panr station at Christmas time which is a great concert um we have so many passengers stopping and listening and dancing along with us there a like so your J when did you start making beats and what got you into in the first place I've been making beats for only about 3 years now I just got into the deep house I said let me try it out and world and to help you know less fortunate people I I think life music shouldn't tend to take to drugs but I don't look as Manana as a drug this see but you know sometimes you have to be careful with music because it can end up with you like taking drugs you know so that's what you have to watch out for so we want clean RA raave music dance music where everybody is happy you know what I mean so a lot dos for therapeutic reasons that we now what's your opinion on the therapeutic side do you think you think the government should have done that yeah because a lot of people start to smoke it and get addicted to it and don't find out it's a crime and then end up worse of situations so you think it's a negative thing it's not negative but some people portray it as a negative thing and that's what I like to stop basically great and so with your music like your atmosphere what kind atmosphere do you bring with your music like you want a peaceful respectful honored how how how you going to keep it on a safe Vibe I'd like to keep it ambient people are happy and danc you know like your birthday you know or Christmas any celebration just like that basically so I'm a pus as well as well as music's really helped you with your mental health like when did you start making music and what made you invest your time into key changes and the music industry well um I'd found out about key changes while I was in hospital and and um I thought I'd try it out I I felt a fire in my belly to get out there and perform some of the songs I've been writing since I was a young girl and um you know it changed me and it allowed me to actually be the artist I wanted to be and get out and perform and key changes gave me that confidence and we made some great tracks in the studio as well so stuff so we uh all got chipped in for a DJ set we had uh decks uh stereo speakers finals and we just just taped ourselves and uh to car from there really so I know you like your base like your heavy base what makes you like your base so much cuz your juice is heavy like that my base um you know it it it kind of it's a creeper that one because I I flow I flow from the base into the um sink into the tune sinks so um the way I do it is sort of sort of like um special in a way like uh yeah yeah yeah so your music really helped you therapeu wise I know you go under the key changes and you put some mental health problems how has music helped you well it's been there for me you know when I um need needed shoulder to cry on to be frank you know um going out spending my money on um iPods and headphones and and uh going to the computer and uh searching for tun to download and and playing my speakers in my bedroom um just doing things revolving around music for instance I could play pool but I have my speakers playing my streams beside me while me and my mates are freshing it out on the pool table so I know you you're the news a couple of years back your sister was done a track with you didn't it how did that go and and how is your social media promoted from the news that you did plus plus your exposure no no um yeah me and my sister we did do a Tain um yeah I mean people loved it man like uh people telling me how they listen to it fre time the day it's part of the household and I and and I felt the response from everyone um yeah uh I'm looking to do another tune with her um so what what's the space yeah so I know your brother does music like like he does gospel music right yeah he does gospel yeah and you got a load of fans he's got a load of fans do you think working together has helped you as a music your family yeah man it definitely has done yeah because uh he he he he he took me under the my wing when I sort of had not a lot really to go to to go on he helped me out uh sort of pass by by me and uh help me out a lot so I know you start but when you start you don't really when you sing or rap you don't stop it's amazing you're a bit like G gates at I'm not going to lie like but don't you do D Bas you do hip hop you do a bit dance hole maybe drama base like all this hard stuff like G as you said and you really do speak World in it so like like what what what brings your music to not what makes you so happy with your music like do you have a reason for this or do you not know um to be honest Bob Marley is in my um family trie so you know it's on my dad's side and I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm um what's the word uh uh daddy's boy man like you know it's just you know like you know so it's just more like you know things things I do have to revolve around see is eyes [Music] [Music] I [Music] my [Music] so today I'm with a a climate crisis easm and I'm interested like like what is happening with the world right now with the crisis well uh we I'm from Islington climate Center and we're based in the angel shopping center upstairs next to wagger mamers so we're asking people today how they feel about the climate crisis and what we're seeing is that most people are either worried but think they're taking action or else they're worried and they don't really know what to do and we got a lot of people who are on the line of that because they're worried and they're taking action but they want to take more action but they don't know what to do then we had one quite cross person who wasn't worried and thought the government had it under control and then two people who didn't think about it so where we're interested is in these people because at the climate Center you can come and find out lots of different things that you can do about climate crisis and also we've got lots of workshops where you can learn more about it so I want to go talk about cars at the moment electric cars and ulist that's really helping if I'm not mistaken correct uh electric cars do help yes they are part of the part of the thing and uh ulas really helps with the air pollution but also what really helps is in London we're quite lucky because we've got a really amazing public transport so if you live on Caledonian Road or in angel I mean you're just spoiled for choice on buses tubes different ways of getting around even we get electric buses now and even the trains are coming electric now do you think that's really helping yeah definitely for sure the electric buses make a huge difference so lots of things are changing and that's why we've got the climate Center did you know on Holloway road you can there is a cargo bike that you can book and borrow to shift things so and that belongs to Caledonian road so uh those are the kind of things that we're helping the community know about now I've got an e scooter and an ebike normally the guys are abusing them and stuff it's the shamely not using it properly but do you think the elect bikes helping compared to motorbikes oh sure yeah for sure I mean that there are so it's it's quite funny isn't it all the different forms of uh transport that there are now you could just I see people go past on Comedy scooters on uh skateboards all battery powered it's quite exciting all the different things you can do and even the windmills and stuff is really amazing so to answer your question I would say I would say I'm worried but they are taking action but I do think they can do a little bit more to just make make it more professional like like do more like only a little bit more it's a minor they're doing their best but a little bit more say the more business side of it the money might be too hard to change your car they just make things cheaper for the community in that way but yes I think money be done but as the time it can cost a lot of money so okay so what's interesting I don't know if you know this but Islington Council recruited a 43 citizen panel to help make policy on climate change because there are things that we can all do as individuals but there's stuff we can do collectively as well so public transport is a good example of that and so they've recruited this 43 panel uh 43 citizen panel to help make climate policy but they've recruited people by sortition that means that they exactly rep represent the community that they're doing it so they're going to make some new policies for us all to uh try and reduce the carbon footprint of is lingon can you mind your charity or business how's how's your company work uh we are just a community volunteer Le organization that are about engaging people with the climate crisis informing them so that they know what's happening but also connecting people and projects because there's lots of great projects in the burough there's the forest for change that's on the corner of barnesbury Street and Liverpool road which was a bit of scrap land that's been totally planted up by uh parents for cleaner Islington cleaner parents and now is an outdoor classroom there are loads of great projects up and down this burough and it by coming to the climate Center you can find out about them and find out one for you you want to volunteer with a growing project we can show you where they all are and we've got a massive map 2 m by 3 m of the burough that shows all the growing projects all the cool spaces all the
